About us

Why choose
The Violin Department?
The Violin Department is led by a group of conservatoire trained musicians who studied in leading institutions in UK, Europe and America. Having a deep knowledge of the actual Hong Kong music panorama we care about people’s interest for learning the violin as very often we can appreciate a wide gap between expectations and results, due to poor quality mentoring and outrageous prices widely offered.
Having adequate knowledge of music theory, technique, musicality and artistic education are the fundamentals of being a good violin player. We ensure learning with us is a real well-rounded process that will be remembered as a a positive and healthy experience, and will bring up the student’s full potential.
As we are active international musicians, we are in permanent contact with different well-known institutions that you may be interested to join, like music faculties. We are happy to assist you to link your education with us with your future place.

Performing
Opportunities
Final purpose of music is to be listened and enjoyed, whence a fundamental part of the learning process is to have the opportunity to regularly perform for an audience, either large or small. Playing music in front of other people creates a feeling of responsibility and engages the student to practice with an aim, and to feel like a real artist. This will also help to battle with stage fright and self-confidence, which will be useful not only for music but for many other aspects in life.
Therefore it is very important for the students to get enough performing opportunities to achieve a higher level. The Violin Department organizes different activities and performing experiences for our students to join so they will be well-prepared for different tasks, like music competitions or ABRSM exams.

One does not live by violin alone…
The Violin Department provides the opportunity to join The Ensemble Project and The Chamber Project, two exciting schemes that, covering repertoire of all eras and styles, will complement your solo training with a fundamental element of the music-learning process - playing and enjoying music with others- within your age or skill level.
